It's Winter in Wisconsin

We got 14 inches of snow in one night during the recent blizzard. Everyone had a stay home day as school, daycare, and work were all canceled. Spent about 3 hours shoveling us out, but it was fun. The 2009 snow fort has began taking shape and mom and the girls built a backyard snowman.

In the other photos, creative Bela made the home into a school and did "homework" for 4 imaginary students.

The amazing thing is that in all that math problems she made up there is only one error, everything else is perfect. What a brilliant little kindergartener! 2+9=11 5+10=15 4+3=7. Awesome!

You can also see that she is an amazing artist and she is working on her spelling - she is still learning the rules of words but will try to sound out whole sentences. Awesome Bela!

Bela's 6th Birthday

Bela had a great 6th Birthday. We gave her the choice of having a party with her new friends at school or her old friends from daycare. She chose daycare, so we had a class reunion at Madtown Twisters. Bela loved seeing all her friends again and everyone had a great time!

Halloween 2009

Some halloween photos of the girls. We went trick or treating with the neighbors and Bela collected 3 months worth of candy! Zoe had a blast and loved the candy too. Bela's favorite house was the green ghost.

Disney Day 5

We went back to the magic kingdom on the 5th and final day to ride all the classics. Of course, we had to go on "it's a small world" and take videos!

We also rode the teacups, took the jungle cruise, and explored tommorowland.

We saw one and only thing papi remembered vividly from his last visit - when he was 4 and he went with Grandma Popple, Grandma Kathy and Aunt Michele - and that was the Fronteirland Shooting Arcade.

On this day we took it easy and went to Disney Hollywood studios.
Pretty cool. The Beauty and the beast show was cool and Papi got to experience star tours.

This night we had dinner at the wilderness campground. The next day we went to Epcot.

It was Bela's favorite day. We got to see the evolution of the ipod and dine with princesses all in one day!
Bela rode the test track ride and did great. Just like the HWY 1 ride in San Fran!

Ben and Brianne's Wedding - Santa Rosa, CA

We had an AMAZING time at Little Brother Ben and new sister Brianne's wedding up in Santa Rosa. Everything was perfect, what a great trip and what a perfect couple! The wedding all took place inside the Rancho Wikiup, a former ranch and stable converted to a spa and gardens up in Santa Rosa. Beautiful. We stayed at the Sandman and had a great stay - a very nice little motel in Santa Rosa. Bela had a totally and completely great time with her little cousin Mackenzie. A cousin Bela's age - a match made in heaven! We miss you already Mackenzie! After the wedding we spent fathers day taking the scenic route down the California coast on US 1. Talk about a change in scenery - dry arid Wine country, to lush redwood forest, to windy rolling meadows, to rocky cliff seashore. Just awesome.

Bela donated these toys to mommy's friends at work who are going to send them down south of the border where they are coveted items. Bela is so sweet and unselfish, daddy would have never given up a stuffed animal growing up - in fact he still has several!

Camping Mirror Lake State Park

Mom, Dad and the girls went camping for Daddy's birthday in June. Bela had a blast exploring, investigating tent worms, and helping daddy with the fire. Zoe was not a dirt eater this time and had a great time. The highlight was going to the drive-in to watch night at the museum. The lowlight was thinking that the upside down house was not scary for kids - Bela screamed the whole time! Zoe of course loved it. A little to spooky.

Included here are some videos of the girls at the beach - Bela Boo was busy saving the tadpoles and rescuing them from their tidepool traps and setting them free!
